Privacy Policy

Last updated 28 June 2026

Kiln is a 100% on-device application. It has no servers, no account, and no analytics, and it never transmits your data on its own. The only information we ever receive is what you choose to send us by email.

Your content stays on your device

Audio recordings, imported files, transcripts, and generated reports are stored only in the app's private sandbox on your Mac or iPhone/iPad. They are never uploaded anywhere.

No account, no servers, no analytics

Kiln has no backend, requires no sign-in, and includes no analytics, tracking, advertising, or third-party SDKs that collect data.

All processing is local

Transcription, speaker separation, and report generation run entirely on-device using Apple frameworks.

Model downloads

Some on-device models (for example, Apple's speech model) are downloaded once through Apple's own systems. These transfers carry no user content and go only to Apple.

Contacting support (optional)

If you use Report an Issue or email us, your message — and any device info or diagnostic log you choose to attach — is sent through your own email app. Diagnostic logs contain only technical details (app version, device, and what the app did — stages, errors, timings); never your audio, transcripts, names, or report content. You review and send the email yourself, and we use it solely to investigate your issue.

Deletion

Deleting a meeting deletes its audio and all derived data from your device. Uninstalling the app removes everything.

Children's privacy

Kiln collects no data from anyone, including children.

Contact

Kiln itself collects no personal data, so there is nothing for us to sell, share, or disclose; anything you choose to email us is used only to respond to you and investigate your issue. If you have any questions about this policy, email support.kiln@gmail.com.
